Accreditation

Volusia Catholic Schools are held to the highest standards.

All early learning/elementary/middle schools in the Diocese of Orlando:

  • are accredited by The Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) and must undergo re-accreditation every 5-7 years.

  • meet or exceed the State of Florida educational requirements.

  • are certified by the Florida Department of Children Services.

  • are evaluated annually using the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools, a comprehensive set of standards examining Mission and Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality. Seventy benchmarks provide observable, measurable descriptors for each standard. (catholicschoolstandards.org)

  • participate in Third-Year Progress Appraisal (TYPA) visit conducted by the Office of Catholic Schools to evaluate and ensure continued school growth between FCC visits.

Catholic high schools are accredited by Cognia and the Florida Catholic Conference.
