St. Brendan teacher selected for Master Teacher Program

Lizanne Swaringen, a social studies teacher at Saint Brendan School, has been chosen by the Society of Cincinnati for a M970729_10151679497434433_1502801707_naster Teacher Program.Swaringen was just one of 15 teachers selected from across the country to participate in the five-day fellowship.Teachers in the program will receive scholarly instruction, as well as time in the Society's extensive library to research and improve their lessons with primary source materials. The best lessons will be posted on the Society's website, credited to the master teachers who created them.The Society of Cincinnati was created after the Revolutionary War by Continental Army officers. It continues to celebrate American independence through education programs that focus on the experience of those who fought and won America's War for Independence.This is the second American Revolution Master Teachers Program offered and will be held June 24-29, 2013, at Anderson House, the Society's headquarters in Washington, D.C.
