St. Brendan's new gardening class makes headlines

photo (1)Students at St. Brendan's Catholic School are getting fresh air, planting vegetables, and creating buzz all at the same time with the introduction of a new gardening class at the school.The class, called "Garden to Kitchen," was recently featured in an article in "The Florida Catholic."The class, created by St. Brendan instructor Lizanne Swaringen, teaches students how to garden a variety of plants, vegetables, herbs and flowers. The students later harvest the plants and create dishes out of them.The crops and vegetables students garden can vary from semester to semester, expanding the exposure students have to different types of gardening."Garden to Kitchen" has become a popular class as St. Brendan's.
